Heidler Hardwood Lumber Company is now a distributor of iDECK decking products and the iDECK CLIP system.

IPE

Tabebuia spp. is a South American hardwood that is naturally strong, durable, decay and termite resistant. The decking material is knot free and needs no preservative treatment. Ipe can be left in the “raw” or coated with the coating of your choice. The hardness is approximately three times that of Oak, and it is dimensionally stable making it perfect for exterior applications like decks, docks, and golf course walkways and bridges.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

  • Highly resistant to fungi, decay, and infestation
  • No harmful chemicals are used for treatment
  • NFPA UBC 1 fire rating (same as steel and concrete)
  • Competitive pricing compared to Cedar, Redwood, or composites
  • Durability rating of 25 years plus by the US Forest Products Lab

ADVANTAGES AND PERFORMANCE

All products are surfaced four sides and eased four edges for a smooth texture and superior appearance. With its’ consistent color and knot free grading, you will get a natural yet high quality look at a competitive price. Available are decking planks, posts, pickets, and handrails to allow you to customize your deck. Finally, unlike softwoods, IPE is not quick to absorb water; therefore it will not cup, bow, or twist like other woods will in service.

I-DECK CLIP SYSTEM

Normal installation of Ipe requires the installer to pre-drill all holes before nailing or screwing. With the invention of the I-Deck Clip System, there is no longer any need to pre-drill when installing this product. The I-Deck Clip fits snuggly into the groove on the edge of the plank, and is then screwed into the floor joist below. This system will decrease the installation costs compared to traditional Ipe installation. The clips are sold in boxes of 175 clips.
