Since 1988, Heidler Hardwood has offered careful machining of your order at our warehouse location. Heidlers’ services include: S2S, SLRIE, SLR2E, GANG RIPPING, S4S, PROFILE MOULDINGS, PROFILE SANDING, AND CUSTOM PROFILE KNIFE GRINDING. S2S - Surfacing two sides is done on our Northfield 240 double facing planer. This planer will joint the bottom face, then 59 inches later plane the top face to thickness. This helps to provide the flattest surfaced lumber possible. Dimensional capacity is up to 6 inches thick by 23 ¾ inches wide. This process will give you two clean, flat faces to start your project.   SLR1E - Straight Line Rip One Edge is done on our Deihl SL52 straight-line ripsaw. Accuracy is aided by the use of laser alignment to keep ripping waste under 7%. Dimensional capacity is up to 4 inches thick. A straight line rip done after surfacing will give you one square edge, reducing your manufacturing time.   GANG RIP AND SLR2E - Gang-Ripping and Straight Line Ripping Two-Edges are done on our Mureen Johnson 312 ripsaw. Again, accuracy is aided by the use of laser alignment to keep ripping waste to a minimum. This saw produces a glue line quality rip. Optimizing is done prior to machining. Dimensional capacity is up to 2 ½ inches thick by 12 inches wide for gang ripping. This process gives your material a uniform width, or creates blanks for your moulder.   S4S AND PROFILE MOULDING - Surface Four Sides and Profile Mouldings are manufactured through our 5 head Weinig moulder. Dimensional Capacity is up to 4 inches thick by 8 5/8 inches wide, with a 1½ inch maximum depth of cut. We have knives for over 450 crowns, bases, casings… available, or we can manufacture mouldings to your custom profiles.   PROFILE SANDING is done on our Profimatic four-sided profile-sanding machine. This machine was the first of its kind in our market area, with the ability to sand a profile on all four sides of the moulding in one pass. Purchasing your mouldings sanded to your specified grit will give you a product ready to finish. Saving you time, money, and giving you a better quality product.   CUSTOM PROFILE KNIFE GRINDING - Templates are made from a full- scale drawing or an actual piece of the moulding to be duplicated. The drawing or moulding is scanned into a computerized (CNC) template manufacturing machine. This insures complete accuracy of all templates. Knives are carefully made from the template on our Schneeberger Profile Grinder. The Schneeberger grinder allows accuracy to within .0005 of an inch from knife to knife. All profile knives are kept in our extensive inventory, never to be changed always to be kept. If you ever need more of the same profile we will still have the knives in our inventory.
